Our Story

Care built on dignity

Bella Dignity exists so no family faces a dementia diagnosis without calm, practical, respectful guidance.

Gayon Buchanan

LPN · Founder of Bella Cares

Gayon has spent more than a decade at the bedside — clinical nursing, memory care leadership, and teaching care teams how to respond when a moment turns hard. Again and again she watched families do their very best and still feel lost at 3 a.m., with no one to ask.

The Bella Cares Dignity-First™ Care Method grew out of those nights: a repeatable, five-step way to meet distress without stripping a person of their dignity. Ask Bella™ puts that method in your pocket, available whenever the moment arrives.

What we believe

Dementia takes memory, not dignity

The person is still here. Care should protect identity, privacy and choice long after recall has faded.

Behavior is communication

Refusal, repetition, pacing and agitation are messages. Our work is to listen for the unmet need underneath them.

Caregivers deserve care too

No plan is complete unless it protects the wellbeing of the person giving the care.

Who we serve

Family caregivers and care partners at home, plus hospice teams, memory care communities and professional care staff who want one shared language for dignity-first care.
